Run for a Cause

One of Bimeda’s sustainability pillars is Community, and Bimeda is committed to seeking opportunities to contribute to the wellbeing of people, animals and the environment in the communities where Bimeda operates

Bimeda colleagues in Zambia have recently participated in an excellent community initiative which saw them take part in a 10km run to raise awareness of childhood cancer and to show solidarity to those affected. The event also raised money for the purchase of equipment for the paediatric ward at the cancer disease hospital at UTH (University Teaching Hospital).

Seven members of the Bimeda team took part in the race and were proud to play a small role in supporting this great cause.

One Bimeda participant commented, ‘we had an opportunity to meet a number of children who were affected by the disease and we heard a touching story of one of the survivors of cancer currently pursuing a degree in medicine at the University of Zambia. We were excited to take part in this noble cause and to be among the individuals and organisations giving hope to the many children for a better tomorrow as they battle against cancer.’
