electronic waste

Incorrect disposal of electronics can have serious negative consequences for the environment. Hazardous materials in electronic devices can leach into water and soil, polluting the natural environment and harming ecosystems. However, it’s not always easy to correctly dispose of electronics responsibly, with local recycling events often falling within regular working hours for many employees. To assist employees with the responsible disposal of electronics, Sustainability Champions at Bimeda’s Le Sueur facility, organised a week-long electronics recycling drive. Employees were encouraged to bring in old electronic devices, which Bimeda then disposed of responsibly, in conjunction with a local service provider.
