South Africa Warehouse Team Introduces New Waste Repurposing Initiative

Under Bimeda’s pillar of waste, we commit to proactively looking ‘for opportunities to implement sustainable practices for the management of waste, including recycling, re-using and repurposing waste.’

The team in South Africa were recently able to introduce a new waste separation and recycling initiative to the warehouse. The new initiative sees waste shrink wrap and cardboard from deliveries being separated and collected by a third party. The third party then repurposes these materials. On average one ton of plastic and one ton of cardboard is repurposed each month through this initiative.
